New parking tariffs

Parking tariffs for the Town Centre car parks in Prince Philip Park, Whitehill & Bordon, are set to change in response to community demand and to align the charges with council owned car parks nearby.
From the 11th February, 2022, the parking tariff will change to be as follows:
FREE parking between 6pm-Midnight every day
Outside of these hours, parking is FREE for the first hour … …after which parking will be charged at £1/hour
The change is being implemented after careful analysis of how and when the car park is used, and in response to requests from the local community and in particular their representative, Cllr Andy Tree, who has called for the fee structure to be brought in-line with those in council-run car parks nearby.
Leader of Whitehill Town Council, Cllr Andy Tree, says:
“In July 2021, and then more recently in November, I raised making parking at The Shed free from 6pm, to bring it in line with Alton’s free parking time and to make it fairer for residents. I am very pleased that Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company have listened to this feedback and have announced that the change will be made from 11 Feb 2022. I thank them for this positive change for residents.”
James Child, Project Lead at The Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, said:
“We’ve listened and we hope that this update to the parking tariff at The Shed will make it easier and more affordable for the local community to enjoy the developing town centre and especially our night time economy. We appreciate the advice and guidance offered to us by local leaders and members of the community, and will continue to monitor the appropriateness of this tariff over the coming months “While we hope the car park tariff will now suit more people, sustainability and wellbeing are two core concerns for WBRC, so we’re working hard to ensure that anyone who wants to leave their car at home can easily and safely walk or cycle wherever they need to go too.”
