What’s on in Bordon this summer?
The summer holidays are upon us, and it’s a great time to relax and get together with friends and family. But, six weeks is a long time to entertain everybody! With The Shed at the heart of the developing town centre, did you know that you can easily access (and even walk) to many other free attractions from here?
Discover what’s on in Bordon this summer…
1. Hogmoor Inclosure
This is a hidden gem in the heart of Whitehill & Bordon, people travel from all over to visit this attraction, right on our doorstep. Over 54 hectares of woodland and heathland, the space is great for activities such walking and cycling along with spotting birds and wildlife. There is also a large natural play area and picnic tables to enjoy. Plus, parking is free. Find out more here.
2. Skate Park
The Skate Park is a situated a stone’s throw away from The Shed, on the corner junction of Oakhanger Road, Station Road and Budds Lane. Â Designed by skatepark-construction specialist Wheelscape in Bristol, the park offers a range of activities to skaters of all abilities, from grind ledges to a 6ft high mini-ramp. Free parking is available in the adjacent Temporary Car Park.
3. Green Grid Green Loop
The Green Grid Green Loop is a 7km circular route around and through the Town, connecting and giving easy access to the wonderful natural spaces that exist in Whitehill & Bordon. Did you know that Whitehill & Bordon is the only place in the country where you can find all 12 native breeding reptiles and amphibians? The award-winning Loop features waymarking totems benches and blocks to navigate through the Town, creating a fun and exciting way to explore. Â Find a map of the loop and more information here.
4. Kids Eat Free at BOSC
Looking for a great family friendly venue where the kids can play outside while everyone can enjoy delicious food? This summer you can, as kids eat FREE at BOSC. Plus, it’s only a short distance from The Shed. One child under 10 eats free for every adult ordering a main meal, valid 12.00pm – 6:30pm Wednesday to Sunday. Book here.
5. Building 94
Just a short stroll from The Shed itself, is Building 94. This Youth Hub offers FREE sessions every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am until 4pm for 11-16 year olds. Sessions include graffiti lessons, roller skating, cooking and table tennis. For all the information, and to book visit the website.
6. Leisure Centre
Cool off with a family swim session, then head to The Shed for a bite to eat (or a tasty treat!) For summer, the Whitehill & Bordon Leisure Centre is offering family activity plans, and recipe advice to help get rid of some of that extra energy. Get all the information here.
7. Shed Events
This Summer, here at The Shed, we are hosting a selection of FREE children’s activities. These include Punch and Judy performances and Arts & Crafts sessions, plus there’s always something delicious to eat too.
