Across Prince Philip Park this month we focus on ‘Connecting with your Community’.

June is a busy month in Whitehill and Bordon; there is something for everyone to enjoy, whatever your interests. Connecting with your community through local events is a rewarding experience, providing an opportunity to build strong relationships and create a sense of belonging.

So, this month discover how you can connect with like-minded people or find out what exciting events are on in the town.

Fathers’ Day Weekend

Tap @ The Shed’s Annual Beer Festival takes place on the 16th, 17th and 18th of June, following the success of last year’s event. Attendees can experience a wide variety of real ales, craft beers, and cider while enjoying live music from local artists. The event not only offers the chance to try new drinks and meet new people, but also serves as a fundraiser for the Bordon Foodbank, which provides critical support to those in need in our town.

Feast on something new

Get ready for the ultimate South African Braai experience! Join BOSC on Saturday 10th June for a delicious feast of traditional BBQ dishes and mouth-watering meats cooked to perfection over hot coals. After a successful Jamaican Food Festival last year, bring your friends and family and let BOSC introduce you to the vibrant and social atmosphere of a true South African braai. Entry is free and there is no need to book, go along and enjoy a taste of South Africa.

Find a new music interest!

On Friday 23rd June, The Shed hosts ‘The Shed Factor’, a live music event where local bands and musicians compete for the opportunity to open the ‘Whitehill and Bordon Summer Social’. Our team of expert judges are on hand to use their music industry knowledge to select a winner. So come along and enjoy an evening of live music and get a taste of what will be coming to the Whitehill and Bordon Summer Social.

Film and fast wheels

The latest movie in the Fast & Furious franchise is coming to Ticket Drive-in Cinema this June. ‘Fast X’ brings car enthusiasts together for a screening on Parade Square on the 17th June. Ticket Cinema are offering tickets for just £10 a car this Father’s Day weekend, so why not treat that special person in your family to this action-packed experience. They are offering an extra 25% off these reduced ticket prices for super, classic and modified car owners who want to display their car on the night! Just email info@ticketcinema.co.uk with your name and the make and model of your car and Ticket Cinema will be in touch with your discount code.

Fun for all ages

Toddler Tuesdays are back at The Shed and this month it’s a messy play special! On Tuesday 13th June Daisy’s Craft Room brings a selection of interactive activities for your toddlers to experiment with. It’s a great opportunity to let your little one experience new things, socialise and for grownups and kids alike to build a new circle of friends. The event is free, no booking required, just come along between 10.30am and 12noon to get stuck into the fun. Due to the nature of the activity, we recommend dressing your little ones in clothes you don’t mind getting messy!

These local events play a vital role in fostering a sense of togetherness and belonging in the community, bringing people from different walks of life together, creating connections and memories.

So, why not pop along to one or more of these events and engage with your neighbours, discover shared interests, and build a stronger, more vibrant community in Whitehill and Bordon!
