The Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company (WBRC) is hosting a Careers Fayre on 5th April, 2022, where more than 30 businesses and employers, including the RAF and Asmodee, will be looking to fill local job vacancies and help members of the East Hampshire community explore employment, skills, and career opportunities within the Whitehill & Bordon area.

The free event, hosted in collaboration with Abri, East Hampshire District Council (EHDC), and the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) will take place at The Shed, in Prince Philip Park, Whitehill & Bordon, between 5pm-7pm on 5th April 2022 and is open to anyone and everyone who is looking for employment, skills development, and careers opportunities in the town and beyond.

Among the 30+ employers who will be present at the fayre will be: The British Army, global leading games manufacturer Asmodee, Serco, BAM Construction, Avon Cosmetics, the DWP, EHDC, Hampshire Police, Taylor Wimpey, The RAF, and WBRC. Housing association, Abri, will also be hosting a CV clinic and offering mock interviews in order to help people best showcase themselves and their abilities when searching for new employment opportunities.

The Careers Fayre is part of broader plans, spearheaded by the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Project, to raise the aspirations of the town and to position it as a place for excellence where people can build brilliant futures. It is also an opportunity for local employers, new and established, to introduce themselves to the local community.

James Child, Project Lead and the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Project, says: “The main role of WBRC is to help support a strong and sustainable local community in which opportunity and success can thrive. Part of this means building new homes, and part of it means creating a strong surrounding infrastructure, covering everything from transport links and amenities to cultural institutions and reliable healthcare. But these things play second fiddle to our responsibility to help create a town where people can live in and work to support their local communities for generations to come.

“We are proud to bring new, exciting, and globally significant business and corporations into the local area, creating employment and career opportunities that have, for such a long time, been far too scarce. At the centre of everything we do are the young generations who currently live here and those who one day will. Their aspiration requires opportunity and we plan to do everything we can to create that for them. This Careers Fayre is one small but vital step towards delivering on this mission.
